Works on Paper

If pigment hits paper, the sheet will begin to respond to it, unlike a screen. It bulges. It refuses. It agrees. This dialogue between support surface and painting job accompanies every work on paper. On these coloring grounds arise series of works that try to assert themselves in this fascination, at times reserved and simple in the depiction, sometimes very brittle or complex. Between boldness and subtlety is the formal language of this work.
