Monotypes

To paint with the means of a monotype, thereby obscuring the artisanal traces of this printing technique, until the monotype ‘paints itself’, is the interest of these works. Each of them comes from a series that has set itself the task of transferring a painterly quality into the finished work. The subjects of these series remain largely hidden, and deliberately evade the obvious. In this way, a technical printing process is being expanded layer by layer by the subtlety and by the incomprehensible nature of painting.
