Fields

In this group of works, colour as the language of painting becomes the focus of artistic discussion. In the cooperation and in front of a spectrum of colours, an aesthetic terrain emerges that spans a field of tension between assertion and withdrawal. Each individual work represents an artistic questioning that has to be solved in its own way with given means. Because each colour answers a question that the picture asked earlier. If the answer is found, the work raises new questions. In this constant process of painting over, painting and depainting, of finding and rejecting, studies and works emerge that trace the language of colour. They try to fathom and grasp the unfathomable mathematics of painting by discarding the obvious.
