Passages

In the group of passages, the focus is on the boundaries and transitions in the picture. Colours, shapes and surfaces meet and bundle different forces and processes at the meeting point. The passages lead not only through visual and intellectual spaces but also through times. Visual elements meet and join at the seams of the surface constellation according to the conditions and provisions of autonomous painting. At the same time, however, they show contours and structures of the living environment and awareness of existence. Last but not least, passages mark a transformation, a place of transition between ‘no longer’ and ‘not yet’. In this aesthetic area, painting confronts reality and yet points to nothing else than reality – unseen, unspeakable, distant maybe or even very close.
